Vintage fabrics hold the physical memory of their makers. In my work, textiles are used to convey narratives, memories and emotions. Personal and political storytelling challenge patriarchal structures and norms that limit women's freedom, choices and opportunities. 

My work often references social history, poetry, literature and ancestral tales. Each thread and piece of cloth is transformed by layering, appliqué, hand stitch and watercolour.
